Do You Think Tna Made A Good Decision By Making Christian Cage A World Champion?

I know he isnt the current champ, but do you think they made a good decision by making him champ? He didnt have as good success in WWE. I always thought he was really underrated though.

I think that Christian was a fine champ, but TNA made a mistake by making him champ so soon after he debuted. Christian went from WWE jobber to the biggest champ in TNA, which doesn’t look good to fans who are watching TNA for the first time or so and see Christian as champ, the same guy who lost a bunch of matches. They would have been better off building him up first with a good feud to establish him as a legit contender.

Yes, but no. You see, Christian is an excellent worker, he has superb mic skills, and he definitely has the moves, but his title win was, well, “dodgy”. When Christian went to TNA, he was getting off of the boat from WWE after, despite his last match being a Survivor Series win, being a jobber to the stars. As good of a wrestler as he is, the people wouldn’t, didn’t, and don’t see it that way (well, some of them). Unlike the WWE’s technique of taking WCW stars that never got the gold (Jericho, Rey, Eddie), and saddling them with what they deserve, Christian’s title reign just looked like another way for TNA to get publicity.
I agree with one of the above posts. Captain Charisma should have had a longer road to become champion. Mind you, Shelley and Sabin have yet to hold TNA World gold.

    HELL YA
Cage is an awesome wrestler and well rounded in every category
He will hold a world title again

WWE didn’t make him the Champ because he was a heel and increasingly popular than alot of the faces. In England he wrestled Batista and it was taped so the WWE edited it as much as they could so it would sound like Batista was the favorite.
Christian made a great champ in TNA I think.

The reason he never made it big in WWF/E is because guys like Rock,Austin and The Undertaker were at the top and the focus was on them.Christian Cage is a good wrestler and has awesome mic skills,he’s like TNA’s Rock but no where near the Rock’s caliber,if you know what i mean.

My guess is Christian was too small by WWE standards to hold the heavyweight title. It would be “unrealistic” to have him beat guys like Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, etc.
However, since Christian left, Rey Mysterio has held the title, so this is probably not the case anymore.

    I think yes.
Christian generally is a very good wrestler..he has lot of charisma. In WWE he didn’t got a push in singles..although he had prooved himself in the tag team divison with Edhe. The team had some great matches..so many title igns e.t.c
That was good for TNA(to make him World Champ) because they showed that they can make wrestlers and push others that were underrated in some othe promotions. That will attract possibly even more wrestlers to come in their roster
Even The Rock has said outside of the ring that he admires Christian’s talent a lot!
I am glad that in TNA he made it to the Heavyweight division..
And i agree with you again,i think in WWE was very underrated because he actually never got a title shot except from Vengeance 2005(i think) in a triple Threat with Cena and Jericho.
He has been also avery entertaining Intercontinental Champoion and i generally like his style..
I would love to see him back in WWE though cause i am more WWE Fan than TNA fan..

cage is an amazing talent and the wwe wouldnt give him a title run because they felt that he wasnt as big as his brother or someone else and he wouldnt be able to carry the wwe on his shoulders with merchandise sales and tv ratings…..so yes i think cage deserved a title run in tna but i think its time for him to come back to wwe because he is being used the wrong way in tna already…and he might be leaving soon anyways since he isnt happy with his contract and the way jarret is running his story lines….he might be back in the years to come since him and vince left on good terms….

Got something to say?
