How Many Times Has The Wwe Used The Storyline In Which The Wrestler They Want To Push Goes Against Vince?

I have been watching pro wrestling since 1988 and I have never seen the WWE use one storyline more. Contrary to belief the first wrestler-vs.-Vince McMahon rivalry was with Bret Hart, then came Steve Austin which was really the start of pushing wrestlers by having them have a rivalry with Vince McMahon and really the only good one. Then came The Rock a little bit, then Triple H, and so on and so on and so on. The point is this new rivalry between Lashley-vs.-McMahon is old and way past its prime. If the WWE want's to promote a wrestler they really need to find a new way or do the thing they should do anyways which is push the person who is both gifted at wrestling and good on the mic, but that would meen putting Batista and Lashley back in midcard status which I am all for. Hopefully someday Vince will realise that we as the fans decide who is best not him. What do you think?

You raise a really good point but the Bret Hart couldnt relly be considered a pudh as he began feuding with McMahon long aftre he was an established main eventer and had won the wwe title before their feud.
The Mcmahon character was created after the montreal screwjob and has seenmany superstars benifit from the “Mr.McMahon” character. The wwe new fans were bored of the baby faced champion and The Austin era was born. He was undoubtedly the most obvious benifactor.
Other superstars like DX,The Rock,Ken Shamrock,Mankind,The Big Show and many more have grown due to the feuds with Mcmahon over the years.
The fans react very positivly when a superstar goes aginst McMahon simply because his evil character is so convincing. Even the great Hulk Hogan benifited from his feud with McMahon.
Interestingly, WCW’s feud with mcmahon about stealing talent also saw their business thrive.

but yousee, vince is great at getting people over! he has amazing reactions, good wrestling matches (well average and least) and he is interesting to watch (sometimes).
You forgot about the same storyline being used with people that arent vince, but in a position of power within the company.
    Austin V Bischoff
    Cena V Bischoff
HBK V Vince (ok i know im naming vince, but lets not foget about this one… hbk & god.. in the name of…)
i wont try to name them all

Great insight, but the angle seems to work. No one in the new ECW is as over as Vince is, at least since Paul Heyman and the Big Show left. They’re doing this to buy other wrestlers time to get bigger so they’re not vast underdogs going up against Lashley. I don’t like it, but it appears to be necessary.

The reason that they do it is because the fans really don’t like Vince. Therefore, it is only certain that if they want to push someone, then they will have to feud with Vince. Though not everyone who does feud with him really need a push as Hogan, Flair, Undertaker and Bret were already considered main eventers by the time they did it. As for Lashley, it is only because they don’t have much for him to do right now, though we know it is gonna be Snitsky who is next for him.

Got something to say?
