In The Fall Of 1983, The Masked Superstar Terrorized The Wwf With His Neckbreaker. Was This Stunt Dangerous ?
I fully realize that EVERY TIME, two professional wrestlers climb in to the ring to entertain the fans, there is ALWAYS a risk of serious injury in their show. HOWEVER, would you say that a finishing move like the Masked Superstar's Neckbreaker brought with it an unusually high risk of serious or even fatal injury?

Got something to say?

There was a risk. But if you study any tapes or films from the day, you will notice that there was a little bit of a wind – up before the move. This telegraphed to the opponent the direction of the twist and also allowed the opponent time to twist his body in time with the move. Thus the risk of a real broken neck was in theory negated. However, there were some wrestlers who were just a little un – coordinated and wound up with a little soreness the next day.
I always thought that the Pile Driver was probably the most dangerous move in wrestling. And I know from experience that the figure 4 leg lock can be the most painful in reality.
now with the moves that some of the superstars do in what ever wrestling their in the neck breaker would be tame now a days. With guys flying off the top ropes and with guys hitting each other with what ever they can get their hands on. I think this move is still dangerous but not now with everything going on.
Kind of but mostly wrestling isnt as real as it looks, i mean a guy dying and coming back like 6 times cant really happen. Plus those guys are trained to take beatings and moves like that, its their job.
great Q and the answer is yes and the match was Eddie Gilbert and The Masked Superstar I watch the match 12 times and thought it was a cheap shot the ref should DQ him!
