   He is running a business. The main objective of ANY business is to maximize profits. High ratings result in higher profits for a number of reasons. The higher the ratings, the more advertising revenue for WWE. Higher ratings obvioulsy means more people are watching, and they can push their own merchandise,PPVs, tickets, etc. The more they can advertise their own products, the more likely it is people will buy them. So in a sence, he cares about both, but the main thing he, or any other business owner, cares about it earning the most amount of money. Merchandise sales is just one aspect of how he makes is gross revenue.

   Well Mr McMahon does care a lot about merchandise sales. For example everybody wants John Cena to becoe heel but he is scared that it will affect the sales as Cena sells the most merchandise. But if you remember in over the edge 1999 when Owen Hart died, McMahon insisted for the show to quickly continue and Owen Harts body to be removed. It is extremely tough but since he has stuck with the company for so long,i think he cares more about the ratings

   Money makes the world go round and everyone’s always trying to find ways to make more but do less in making it.
   But IMHO, right now, Vince doesnt care about the ratings since fans still go to WWE events and but merchandise for extra profit. Unless anything threatens his business and/or has the caliber to compete to either shut him down or take over, steady ratings would be “good enough” for the meantime.

   it should be at least a tv-14 rating i mean cmon the wwe now is a joke because of its kiddie era
   i mean cmon vince kids know what curse words and violence are now a days
   bring back tv-14 rating

   Well ratings equals interest which in turn generates more merchandise sales.
   So it’s bit of a moot point.
   And yeh, they sould definitely move out of the PG zone ASAP
