What Is The Point Of Wrestling (i.e. “wwf”, “smack Down” Etc) That Is So Entertaining?

I don’t understand wrestling. I don’t understand what is so entertaing about it. Are those people just doing a bunch of acting? What’s their problem? Why can’t they be nice to each other like everybody else? If they are just people beating each other up, why do some fathers take their kids out to see wrestling? How can it be considered quality family entertainment? I don’t understand wrestling. . . . Please explain it to me.

well, its not family entertainment, but its mostly for men. we woman have our shows, and men have theirs. Violence, fake stuff, weird romances, backstabbing, its like daytime tv! But personally i dont like wrestling.

First, you better retract that WWF thing or the World Wildlife Fund will sue you just like they did Vince McMahon (he had to change his company’s name to the WWE).
Second, “Why can’t they be nice to each other like everybody else?” I don’t know where you live, but if you accidentally make eye contact with a lot of people today, you’re likely to end up with a bullet in you. School kids are the worst for this stuff. And let’s not forget war, road rage, domestic abuse, rape, murder, drunken brawls, gang violence…
Third, it is only entertainment… no different from a soap opera or an action movie. Unless someone messes up really bad, no one gets hurt. I do agree that a lot of the stuff that happens in the WWE is not appropriate for kids and it isn’t what I’d call “family entertainment,” but it is what it is. Just like any other form of entertainment, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to watch it

Wresting is just that for entertainment. It’s all made up everyone knows that by now. And if you watch it long enough you’ll find it is like a man’s soap opera. I personally think they have gone very risque with some of the storylines and how some of the wrestlers dress. But it use to not be that way. But this is the day and age of sex and sex sells. I personally wouldn’t take a kid under ten to see it or watch it much less unless you are ready to answer some tough questions. I think of wrestling like those goofy quizzes and horoscope things you take….for entertainment only not factually based.

It is a male soap opera. They are just taking life to the extreme, like in a morality play, the good and bad are obvious to the viewer so it teaches about how life can end up with the bad on top for a while, but sooner or later the good gets ahead again. The truly weird thing is boxing, they actually hurt one another, that’s the point, in wrestling, it’s more dance than fight, if done well.

Whiteknight hit the nail right on the head. Why do women watch soap operas? Soap operas are so dang stupid. Well, the characters on pro “wrestling” are much more entertaining.

Got something to say?
