It appears that some WWE wrestlers are abusing steroids. Congress had this big hearing a few years ago about MLB athletes and steroids. Why don’t they investigate the WWE?

WWE is currently under investigation by the United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform regarding their talent wellness policy, after the death of one of their performers, Chris Benoit, possibly being linked to steroid abuse.
if that finds something i guess congress will have to get involved. i think one of the major difference is in MLB steroid use is cheating because it gives them an unfair advantage… in wrestling using them doesn’t make them a better performer look at batista he still sucks.
If they investigate the WWE they have to do TNA and ROH and all the rest as well because steroids is not a WWE problem it’s a problem with wrestling in general.

The WWE was investigated… MANY TIMES. Once after the Eddie Guerrero death. Once after Benoit’s murder/suicide. Once after Brian Pillman’s death. The WWE seems to be attacked whenever there’s a disaster in the wrestling community.
The reason why they aren’t hit as hard as the MLB or NFL is mainly because WWE isn’t a true sport. They don’t promote as a sport, nor do they attribute to a competition, as it’s all scripted. If the WWE were jumped on every day like the MLB, who’d be next? Actors getting dropped from their respective movies if they’re caught doing crack? Wow…
WWE has a wellness policy in place, but it can’t catch everything. Mind you, some people have been let go because of steroids, remember that. Booker T, Chris Masters… and others have been suspended for months on end.
In the end, WWE has been investigated, just not to the extent of professional sports… mainly because in pro sports it’s considered CHEATING, and there’s money to be made in bets.
NOTE: Someone stated above that Vince was HELPED by Hulk Hogan… he wasn’t. In fact, Hogan was brought as a witness for the PROSECUTION.

    “Professional Wrestling franchises aren’t
ever sanctioned or governed by our federal
    government.”
    “Neither is Body Building.”
“This government doesn’t regulate the athletes
that don’t represent the United States in either
of the Goodwill Games, World Cup Soccer,
    World Tennis Association, N.A.S.C.A.R., or
any event in the Winter or Summer Olympics.”

Probably because everyone knows the WWE is fake, the participants are (bad) actors, and the results of each event are predetermined for ratings.

because their are technically not a sport.. their sports entertainment.. if they investigate them then they might as well investigate hollywood and all the movie stars.
