Would The Dynamite Kid Have Been A Better Singles Wrestler Than Davey Boy Smith In The Wwf Longterm?

In the late-80′s, most WWF fans still cared about wrestling ability and Dynamite was as good as anybody, and better than most.
His size would have been a liability, though (Vince loves the big boys and this was during the Hulkamania years). He also made several enemies during his time in the WWF, but so did Shawn Michaels.
But I think it all comes down to skills and ability. Dynamite was one of the best pure wrestlers ever, and he had a good aerial offense. In a lot of ways, Chris Benoit was like the second coming of the Dynamite Kid, they were so similar in the ring. Despite his lack of size and problems backstage Dynamite was just too talented to not be a star.
Davey Boy Smith was great but more of a brawler. The WWF was (and still is) filled with muscular brawlers. In a sea of brawlers, truly great wrestlers stand out (Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle). Dynamite would have been no different. I believe he would have been the first pure wrestler to stand out and become a major star in Vince’s WWF on pure wrestling ability alone, had he been a singles wrestler. WWF World Champion? Not during Hulkamania, but he could have owned the Intercontinental Title until after Hogan stepped down. Dynamite could have been a great WWF Champ during the times Hogan didn’t hold that belt.
